Giant fish, waves and marine elements express Kenzo’s love for art, culture, travel and colour.
‘We were really inspired by the fact that water is alive and it has a heartbeat. I feel like when you walk in the room and you see this, you realise that. One of our biggest messages was also this idea of protecting our oceans and to stop over-fishing. Obviously we work and create fashion but I think that fashion and social issues can exist together. How do we live in harmony with the ocean?” – Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, co-creative directors.

Here are some of the best from SS14 catwalk.

girlssss

I wanted to shoot a series of images showcasing great ‘ready to wear’ fashion, mixing up different labels – styled in a tomboy’ish cool urban girl way – and here is the first outfit; featuring styles from House Of Holland & Topshop + jewellery from Topshop Freedom, H&M + Pamela Love.

let me know what you think in the comments box.

I have chosen a few looks that grabbed my attention from the backstage aw 14 catwalk shows.
Look above from Thakoon, with an “upside down” eyeliner flick.Image
60s eyes at Gucci. Shades of brown, false lashes top and bottom.Image
Proenza Schouler. Minimal but flawless make up and side parted hair gave models a polished but natural look.Image
Vera Wang; illuminated complexion with pearly highlights and full brows. Natural looking hair, textured and parted low on one side.Image
Prabal Gurung: Hair straight and side-parted then tucked into jewellery and scarves for the catwalk.

Dolce Gabbana featured a romantic look, with velvety skin and flushed cheeks, a winged eyeliner and plenty of mascara.

Marni showcased flawless skin, velvety finish and natural looking hair

Jil Sander; another natural look for the catwalk – but so fresh and young. Hair washed and spritzed with dry shampoo, groomed brows and concealed imperfections, finished off with some lip balm.

Love the backstage images by Martin Zähringer for i-D magazine as they encapsulate the collection so well; the light, the minimal designs with it’s contrasting texture and knits – with some added warmth in tomato red. The beige even has some golden warmth to it. I can just imagine being super snug come Autumn Winter, wearing clothes inspired by the surface of the planet Mars…backstage helmut lang nyfw14 a backstage helmut lang nyfw14 b backstage helmut lang nyfw14 c backstage helmut lang nyfw14 d backstage helmut lang nyfw14 e backstage helmut lang nyfw14 f backstage helmut lang nyfw14 g backstage helmut lang nyfw styleturbine x backstage helmut lang nyfw14
