helmut lang | best spring looks

20140205-164757.jpgStyleturbine is a huge, massive and on the verge of obsessed fan of Helmut Lang. The styles are always understated, tailored and elegant – collections are fairly similar every season; so classic Helmut Lang pieces are a good investment.
Helmut Lang likes to play with different textures, silhouettes and layers – mainly in black and white but this season a hint of fuchsia pink.

For us grown ups Styleturbine has chosen a few great pieces that will be easy to wear for us fashion forward ladies – there is something invaluable about putting on a look that works every time and makes you feel super comfortable and smart at the same time!
Here are the favourites:

minimal chic

st_9638cWith the look being so minimal, both in design and in colour – spice it up with a colour block clutch and a chunky bracelet. If you are feeling brave try orange lips. Slippers, loafers, court heels or pair of low  boots – keep it black. The white boyfriend shirt was £3.99 in the sale at GAP. Honestly, it doesn’t have to cost you much to be up to date 2014.

the blazer | a must have

helmut lang

The Blazer is an absolute gem of a wardrobe classic! When you put it on, magic happens. You look smart, sharp, focused, up to date, trendy, stylish, chic, etc etc. You get the drill! So today – on a rainy Sunday in January I am dedicating this blog post to my one time favourite of all clothes: The Blazer.

Skinny jeans, a luxe tee/top and a blazer. A court heel (in my world no more than approx 2.5 inches) a lippy and some dry shampoo – you are literally ready for your night out. In Summer – swap the jeans with high waisted shorts or a dress – it will work a treat!

Now, if you don’t mind – a personal gallery of my blazer looks for inspiration, followed by some great links to bargains to be made right now to fetch your best ever style investment!

My favourite blazers are from Helmut Lang and Theory. If you are happy to splash out grab a few very good investment pieces here, and here go for the classics if you want to make a clever investment. I recommend the standard mid-length for maximum usage as it is easier to wear/pull off!

For the high street try Zara, River Island, Topshop and Cos. If shopping in the sale go for classic, all year around usage with black/ grey / white or if you want to invest in some SS14 styles, try a pastel pink or blue! Like the gorgeous half price pink showed below from Ted Baker!
