abu dhabi | middle eastern luxury

st regis abu dhabi styleturbineLucky enough to have family living out in Abu Dhabi I have visited this amazing hotspot many times over the last few years. We always fly Etihad, and the flight time is about 7 hours.
This time we went for Easter and the weather was perfect! Well, if you like it warm!  (30+ degrees)

One of my favourite spots is the St Regis out on Saadiyat Island. We hired beds on the beach for the day and had lunch at the best ever thai restaurant ‘Sontaya‘; winner of Best Southeast Asian Restaurant 2012 &2013.

On the 1st April I celebrated my birthday and we decided to spend the day at a brand new spot; Zaya Nurai Island. Oh my! It is showstopping. On arrival (by boat) you get a welcome drink. The scenery is out of this world. If you appreciate design and architecture, this place is heaven. We had sunbeds by the infinity pool all day, and enjoyed a 3 course lunch overlooking the sea.

It is possible to stay overnight to indulge in even more luxury. As it is a very quiet place, I would say it is well suited for honeymooners and general romance!

As we were celebrating, and wanted a bit more ‘party’ we decided to go to the fabulous Asia De Cuba restaurant out on the Corniche. A very perfect end to the celebrations with divine food, even more gorgeous drinks, and to end it all the whole staff came to our table and sang me ‘happy birthday’ with a delicious platter of treats! I was wearing a new Helmut Lang dress for the occasion bought from The Outnet.

london weekend

Stayed at The Arch London which was my first time at this boutique hotel near Marylebone central London – quite a small, intimate hotel with gorgeous rooms, had lunch on arrival + drinks at the bar in the evening. Needless to say, I will definitely go back. The library with all the arty books and magazines was an added bonus with a warming fireplace. A calm oasis in the middle of a busy city.

My favourite store in Marylebone is Theory where I had a browse; monochrome all over, few touches of print in soft blue hues.
I also visited By Malene Birger – for a splash of Danish designs.
Selfridges is a must when in London – I usually move into the Contemporary floor with labels like Helmut Lang, Acne, J Brand, Claudie Pierlot, Maje, Sandro and The Kooples.

Needless to say, 48 hrs in London when you live in the country is bliss. Love the feeling of walking on concrete ground rather than mud – adore the architecture around and the variety of cafees, restaurants and bars. Saturday night we had “unlimited Cava & tapas” at Pix in Portobello Rd. Recommend! Awesoma food, buffet style and x amount of Cava – a good night, indeed!
Sunday I had a lovely veggie burger at Carnaby Burger Co – and a browse at ElevenParis.

London – I will be back soon!
