I blame instagram for creating this trend. If you haven’t picked up on it yet you are definitely a ‘late adapter’ – styling your home, your shots, your depop, your selfies – with a plant. Yes to green leaves, no to flowers. If in doubt, replace your palm with a pineapple. Preferably in gold. Here is how you can join the trend.
Grow your own cactus. Hang your aloe vera in a brass basket!
Gorgeous Ivy & Liv new collection ss15 coming, Stylishly photographed on, in front of and next to palms! Swoon!
Look-book from Plümo. Photographed at Formentera, a short swim from Ibiza. Looking lush and definitely makes you want to buy the dress. And the cactus.
Even if you haven’t got green fingers (like me) you can probably be able to look after this plant. I doesn’t need that much TLC. A nice home in shape of a cool pot helps!
Pose in front of palms, dressed in tropical dresses, whilst in exotic destinations.
Thereafter, print your snaps and make a collage, surrounded by palm twigs!
If you want to be really cool, I mean – this is the new way of doing the tropical trend, just add pineapple!!! A decorative trinket box, or perhaps a golden candle holder! Love it!
If in doubt, just hug the plant. Show it some love. It will love you back! 🌿🍍🌴🌵
Lucky enough to have family living out in Abu Dhabi I have visited this amazing hotspot many times over the last few years. We always fly Etihad, and the flight time is about 7 hours.
This time we went for Easter and the weather was perfect! Well, if you like it warm! (30+ degrees)
One of my favourite spots is the St Regis out on Saadiyat Island. We hired beds on the beach for the day and had lunch at the best ever thai restaurant ‘Sontaya‘; winner of Best Southeast Asian Restaurant 2012 &2013.
On the 1st April I celebrated my birthday and we decided to spend the day at a brand new spot; Zaya Nurai Island. Oh my! It is showstopping. On arrival (by boat) you get a welcome drink. The scenery is out of this world. If you appreciate design and architecture, this place is heaven. We had sunbeds by the infinity pool all day, and enjoyed a 3 course lunch overlooking the sea.
It is possible to stay overnight to indulge in even more luxury. As it is a very quiet place, I would say it is well suited for honeymooners and general romance!
As we were celebrating, and wanted a bit more ‘party’ we decided to go to the fabulous Asia De Cuba restaurant out on the Corniche. A very perfect end to the celebrations with divine food, even more gorgeous drinks, and to end it all the whole staff came to our table and sang me ‘happy birthday’ with a delicious platter of treats! I was wearing a new Helmut Lang dress for the occasion bought from The Outnet.

After a long Winter in hibernation, where usually comfort comes before style I have to admit, I am so excited to see the sun is out and the styles getting lighter and brighter.
I am sure, many with me, have started booking their highlights at the hairdressers, getting their nails done and also perhaps hitting the gym for that prep work we feel we need, to step into Summer.
I have tried to keep my shopping under wraps the last few months. I have chosen few, but clever items for my wardrobe, focusing on denim and timeless jewellery.
Here are some of the looks I am into at the moment.
Picture 1) Kenneth Jay Lane pearl earrings from The Outnet.
Picture 2) LemLem cover up shirt, handmade in Ethiopia. Keeps traditional weaving techniques alive.
Picture 3) My gorgeous Anna Bülow print and few seasons ago heels from Kenneth Cole.
Picture 4) 5 Skin Acne denims, the wash is perfect for Spring. Themed with linen tank from Alexander Wang, a statement necklace and Ralph Lauren glasses.
Don’t forget the palms, succulents and cactus for your pics and your home! Makes everything look exotic and fabulous!
