palms & pineapples

I blame instagram for creating this trend. If you haven’t picked up on it yet you are definitely a ‘late adapter’ – styling your home, your shots, your depop, your selfies – with a plant. Yes to green leaves, no to flowers. If in doubt, replace your palm with a pineapple. Preferably in gold. Here is how you can join the trend.

Look-book from Plümo. Photographed at Formentera, a short swim from Ibiza. Looking lush and definitely makes you want to buy the dress. And the cactus.

Even if you haven’t got green fingers (like me) you can probably be able to look after this plant. I doesn’t need that much TLC. A nice home in shape of a cool pot helps!

Pose in front of palms, dressed in tropical dresses, whilst in exotic destinations.
Thereafter, print your snaps and make a collage, surrounded by palm twigs!

If you want to be really cool, I mean – this is the new way of doing the tropical trend, just add pineapple!!! A decorative trinket box, or perhaps a golden candle holder! Love it!

If in doubt, just hug the plant. Show it some love. It will love you back! 🌿🍍🌴🌵

Giant fish, waves and marine elements express Kenzo’s love for art, culture, travel and colour.
‘We were really inspired by the fact that water is alive and it has a heartbeat. I feel like when you walk in the room and you see this, you realise that. One of our biggest messages was also this idea of protecting our oceans and to stop over-fishing. Obviously we work and create fashion but I think that fashion and social issues can exist together. How do we live in harmony with the ocean?” – Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, co-creative directors.

Here are some of the best from SS14 catwalk.
